Early this month, Jessy Mendiola earned praises for her simple but stunning look during her civil wedding to her longtime boyfriend Luis Manzano at The Farm at San Benito in Batangas.

For the intimate ceremony, the Kapamilya actress wore a square neck dress with sheer puff sleeves and a low-scoop back by designer to the stars Patricia Santos. She was styled by fashion stylist Patty Yap.

In her latest vlog released Thursday, April 15, Jessy shared the process of making her dream wedding dress with Patricia.

"She's a very special friend of mine," Jessy said of the celebrity designer. "Matagal na 'yung relationship namin together as a designer [and as a] friend. Lahat ng milestones ko sa buhay, siya ang nag-design ng mga dresses ko, ng mga gowns ko."

"I'm just so happy na siya ang napili ko for my wedding dress," she added.

During the dress fitting at Patricia's atelier at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Jessy explained that she wanted her wedding dress to be "very simple and classic."

Patricia, for her part, said that since there will be two weddings, she and Jessy wanted the first dress to be really different from her gown for the second ceremony.

While fitting the dress, Patricia and Jessy shared their tips for brides-to-be on how to find the perfect wedding gown without going over the budget.

"Number one tip: know your priorities," said Patricia. "You can't have it all. Nagtitipid tayo so kailangan natin maging practical, but we have to know kung ano 'yung pinaka-priority natin kasi that would help you budget everything."

"Meron nagsabi sa akin nito. Tipirin mo nang lahat 'wag lang 'yung gown mo," added Jessy. "I mean, it's your special day. Ikaw ang bida ng event na 'to. Siyempre, the groom also, but it's your day. Kumbaga dapat, kung saan feeling mo maganda ka, kung saan feeling mo kahit papaano pasok naman sa budget mo, go for it. Kasi siyempre importante 'yun, eh. Bakit mo naman titipirin 'yung magpapaganda sa 'yo 'di ba?"

Another tip from Patricia is to trust your designer.

"Not just the designers, [but also] the other suppliers. 'Pag pumili ka ng supplier mo, you have to trust them fully because if you start doubting them, or questioning them, nawawala 'yung self-confidence... If you really trust us and if you believe in us, it will give us that boost na talagang we will work hard to make sure you're very happy," she said.

"[It's also important to] communicate. Communication is key talaga. Dapat kaya niyo rin kausapin 'yung designer niyo. You have to tell us how you feel about it since 'yung dress is very personal. Though we know how to design, we cannot say how you feel about the design. So be honest din," she added.
