Beauty queen-singer Catriona Gray has joined forces with R&B artist Jay R for a new song.

On Instagram, Catriona posted a teaser of their musical collaboration, which will be released this coming Friday, April 16.

"More than you see at first glance... feat. (angel and two hearts emoji). 3 days to go! So excited for you to hear @rnbjayr and I's first (musical notes emoji) collaboration. April 16th," she wrote in the caption.

In another teaser she shared on Instagram Stories, the former Miss Universe promised to share an "angel" —a special person in her life—in two days' time.

For his part, Jay R also shared a teaser of their collaboration on his Instagram page.

"A fresh collab for you dropping April 16. This one is straight from out of this Universe. @catriona_gray. Can you guess the title?" he captioned the clip.

After winning the Miss Universe pageant in 2018, Catriona, a music graduate, has been vocal about her plans to pursue a music career.

She has released an original song, "We're In This Together," for the children's welfare organization Young Focus.

Two years later, she released an acoustic version of the song with her boyfriend, actor Sam Milby, as part of a fundraiser.

In a previous interview, Catriona said her dream music collaboration is with Tony Award winner and Broadway star Lea Salonga.

"My dad used to play cassettes over and over again of Miss Saigon because it was his favorite, and Lea was the lead," she said in an interview with Monster RX 93.1. "I didn't know [that Lea was the lead] at the time but I've been listening to the music, so it has become my favorite musical as a grew older."

"And, of course, I grew up watching Aladdin and Mulan. And so, when I found out that the voice to all of my childhood favorite songs was a Filipina, I just felt very awestruck, like starstruck. And so, she just became a person that I really look up to in music," she added.
