Actress Alice Dixson has received her first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Canada.
She shared the news with her fans and followers on Instagram last Thursday, April 8.
Sharing a photo of herself showing her right sleeve, Alice said: "I got my 1st [shot] yesterday thanks to my big bro who drove me back and forth to the vaccination site numerous times (long story). Yay!"
According to Alice, she is scheduled to get her second dose of the vaccine in three to four weeks.
"Balak ko sana sa Pilipinas na lang pag-uwi namin. Does anyone know if may Pfizer sa atin? ... Pls let me know kasi yun ang kailangan ko sa 2nd vaccination dose ko. Thank you."
She then urged her followers to also get vaccinated if they can.
"BTW I heard in Manila you can get your vaccines na kahit lockdown - true? If yes, gogogo!" she said.
The Philippines has received over 3 million doses of vaccines from Sinovac and AstraZeneca. So far, over 1.1 million doses have been administered.
As of Monday, April 12, the country recorded a total of 876,225 COVID-19 cases, including 15,149 deaths, 703,625 recoveries, and 157,451 active cases.
