Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar and PBA star PJ Simon have welcomed their first child.
Jehza made the announcement in a lengthy post last Friday, March 1, as she opened up about the time she suffered a miscarriage last year.
"If we try to look back, my pregnancy announcement happened last year during PJ’s birthday — as a surprise gift for him. I was 7 weeks pregnant here. If you do the math, I should have delivered the baby last January 2021," she began.
"But destiny has a way to challenge our faith. It was mid-June when I was rushed to the hospital because of heavy bleeding. In my mind, I already knew what was about to transpire. And it happened. We lost our baby," she said.
Though overwhelmed with grief, Jehza said she and PJ "tried to move on" from the tragedy.
"The OB Doctor told us I couldn’t and shouldn’t get pregnant in the next 3 months after miscarriage to make sure that my next pregnancy is successful," she went on. "Upon final check up to see if my uterus was all cleared out, I was told that my period should go back to normal after 4-6 weeks of miscarriage. Not counting the days, 6 weeks have turned to 2 months... so I went back to my OB doctor to have myself checked."
"And the answered prayer was there. GOD HAS HEARD. I am pregnant again — unexpectedly," said Jehza, who described their child as their "miracle, rainbow baby" and "a very valuable gift from God."
In a subsequent post, Jehza introduced their newborn baby, Peter Jeidon, to whom she gave birth last March 1 at a hospital in Davao.
"World, meet our little angel. Peter Jeidon Simon. Born on the 1st of March 2021 at exactly 12:40 pm, weighing 3.045kgs," she said.
It was last September when PJ confirmed Jehza's pregnancy as he announced his retirement from basketball.
"Binigay ko yung 17 years ng buhay ko sa PBA, sa Magnolia Hotshots, at sa lahat ng fans but now it’s time to focus on my family. My wife is pregnant and gusto ko magkasama kami as we start a family," he explained.
PJ and Jehza tied the knot at a ceremony in Tagaytay in May 2019.
The two got engaged in early 2018 after being a couple for more than three years.
