Janine Gutierrez thankful for boyfriend Rayver Cruz: ‘Kahit masungit ka or malungkot ka, kakausapin ka pa rin niya’

With her TBA Studios film Dito at Doon now available online for streaming on multiple platforms, Janine Gutierrez shared her initial reaction after watching her first project with JC Santos in full.

“Even if I knew what was going to happen, yung pagka-edit and kung paano ginawa yung pelikula, ang galing. And sabi ko nga kay direk JB (Habac) ang galing ng naging vision niya for the film. Na-enjoy ko siya and kinakabahan ako talaga kapag premiere night so wala rin pa lang pagbabago kahit virtual kinabahan pa rin ako (laughs). I was surprised and even if I knew the story na-hook ako. So yun yung experience ko,” she said.

Although she was saddened that the initial plans for the film to have cinema screenings will not be pushing through because of the new lockdown this year, Janine said she is still thankful it is available to more people online.

“Gusto ko manuod ng sine talaga. I was really looking forward to watching inside a theater kasi iba pa rin yung experience pero you know kailangan natin mag-adjust kung ano yung pinakaligtas para sa ating lahat ngayon. Konting antay lang and malapit na,” she shared.

Just like her role as the frustrated grad student Len in Dito at Doon, Janine said she is also frustrated with how the country has been dealing with the current pandemic.

“Sobra, sobrang frustrating talaga. Hindi rin naman tayo makakaalis dito kahit gustuhin pa natin so what can you do di ba? Sobrang frustrating and more than us, siyempre yung iba nating kababayan mas mahirap talaga ang sitwasyon na napakahirap talaga,” she said.

When asked to give advice to her peers who feeling bored while doing home quarantine, Janina said her film may be just what they need to be entertained.

Another part of her life that Janine is thankful for is her boyfriend Rayver Cruz whom she has been dating since 2017.

So I’m just grateful that meron akong ganun na kasama nitong past year,” she revealed.
