Former Miss Universe title holder Margie Moran took to social media to reminisce about her grand homecoming after winning the title in 1973.
"My arrival in 1973. Gosh, these photos seem ancient. The route of the motorcade took me from Manila International Airport to Roxas Blvd. passing by Manila City Hall, Escolta, Malacañang Palace ending at the Hilton Hotel where I was billeted," Margie posted on her Instagram page.
She also posted a snapshot of her fellow Filipina beauty queens that time.
"Throwback on my arrival as Miss Universe. With Bb. Pilipinas International, #marilenojeda, Bb. Maja, #NanetteProdigalidad, Bb. Pilipinas World Peacetech, #JoanGatlinElizalde, #MercedesZabarte, 3rd runner up," she wrote.
Margie is the second Filipina to win Miss Universe after Gloria Diaz won the title in 1969.

In the question and answer portion of the Miss Universe 1973 pageant, Margie was asked, “If you had one million dollars, what would you do with it?”
In her winning answer, she remarked, "A house and lot because it’s the most expensive thing and I can’t afford it. If I had a million bucks, I’ll buy a house and lot and live by myself and other people of course."
