After marrying his non-showbiz girlfriend Shyleena Herrera and welcoming their daughter River Altheia last year, actor JC Santos said he had a whole new mindset as a family man going into lockdown last year. He counts his family as his inspiration to be productive even when doing home quarantine for most of the year.
“Ako may inaalagaan akong pamilya ngayon. Pero, I think ang boredom para siyang bad day. Temporary lang siya. So, it’s not a bad life, it’s just a bad day. So, I think you have to really do something productive. Ang ginagawa kunwari wala talaga akong magawa on other days, kasi lagi kong nire-remind yung sarili kong huminga para hindi ako mag-isip. I won’t stay inside my mind. I’ll stay as a body lang, iisipin ko lang yung katawan ko and everything. Ibig sabihin I do a lot of workouts and I do something productive,” he shared.
The 32-year-old actor said he almost considered switching professions—similar to that of his character Cabs, a delivery rider in Dito at Doon—just to have more steady income.
So doon umabot yung frustration ko. Pero yung part na I have a newborn and I’m taking care of her, sobrang nagbago yung mindset ko at saka yung emotional side ko, yun yung good side na nangyari sa akin nung lockdown nung 2020,” he revealed.
After attending the online premiere of his TBA Studios film last March 28, JC said he is more confident of how it came out. During the film’s virtual mediacon, he also shared which scene with leading lady Janine Gutierrez was most memorable for him.
“Nung napanuod ko the first time sabi ko, ‘Hay salamat maganda yung pelikula (laughs).’
