Two months after they announced that they were expecting another child, former beauty queen Miriam Quiambao and her husband, inspirational speaker Ardy Roberto, revealed the gender of their second baby.
In their latest vlog, the couple shared highlights of the gender reveal party they recently held for their second child.
At the beginning of the video, Miriam, who has a son with Ardy, shared that she prayed for a baby girl.
"Since meron na tayong two boys, sabi ko, sana this time girl na. Kumbaga 'yung feeling na naka-quota ka na. Tsaka siyempre iba rin 'yung experience eh, na merong anak na girl," she said.
"So I was really looking forward to bonding with a baby girl and then eventually growing up—you know, going shopping together, having manicures together, going to the parlor together. Ang wish ko girl siya," she added.
However, it was later revealed that she and her husband are having another baby boy.
Sharing her reaction to the gender reveal, Miriam admitted that her heart sank as she really wanted a baby daughter.
"Actually, honestly, parang naramdaman ko 'yung heart ko nag-sink kasi siyempre I was really looking... I was really praying na girl na siya," she said. "So I was really struggling in my heart to come to terms with God's decision that this baby is a boy. I'm trying to convince myself na, okay, so it's God's will. He knows better. For sure God has a plan."
She then turned emotional and said: "Sabi ko, 'Lord, help me to accept, pero thank You, thank You! Thank You na normal 'yung baby. Thank You na everything is okay. Thank You, Lord, na walang congenital anomalies. Thank You, Lord, pa rin for this baby but help me to accept it."
For his part, Ardy said he was happy when he found out that they were having a boy.
"Sabi ko, 'Sabi ko na nga ba.' I had a feeling talaga na boy," he said. "But I was just thinking about you (Miriam). I was thinking about Josh. Si Josh also was disappointed. He really wanted a girl. He wanted to experience being a protector, sabi niya."
Josh is the adopted son of Ardy with his late wife Tingting Roberto.
According to Miriam, despite initially being disappointed with their child's gender, she's grateful to the Lord for giving them another "miracle baby".
"Sabi ko, 'Okay, no matter what Your decision, Lord, thank You, thank You pa rin. Kasi binigyan mo kami ng another miracle baby. Binigyan mo kami ng another chance to be parents again, and thank You Lord na healthy talaga 'tong baby,'" she said.
It was in December when Miriam and her husband announced that they're expecting their second child.
Miriam gave birth to Elijah, their first child, on February 16, 2019.
She got pregnant in 2018 at the age of 43, after four years of trying to conceive.
Miriam and her husband have been married for seven years.
