Albie Casino took to social media to share his reaction following the announcement that Metro Manila and four of its nearby provinces will be put under enhanced community quarantine once again.
The ECQ will take effect starting March 29 until April 4. The new mandate came after the surge in COVID-19 infections in the country.
"My face when they said ecq season 2. Congrats to everyone who voted nung 2016 sana natutuwa kayo ngayon vote wisely sa 2022 #ecq #halalan2022," Albie posted on his Instagram page.
Albie's Instagram post received various reactions from netizens.
One netizen applauded Albie for his courage to speak up.
"Thanks at hindi ka bulag at pipi. Buti hindi ka takot ihayag ang saloobin tungkol sa politics.. hindi kagaya ng ibang artista takot ma bash," one netizen said.
Meanwhile, one netizen questioned Albie's stand.
"Control ba ng government officials yung virus? Galing mo din mag isip noh. Duh," the netizen said.
In response, Albie said, "Imma hit you with some knowledge so try to understand if you can. They obviously don't control the virus but they do have control over how they handled the virus (we are LITERALLY THE [WORST] COVID RESPONSE IN THE WORLD) our neighboring countries should be used as a measuring point look at them and compare to us. Now alam kong bobo ka kasi DDS ka but if you still don't get it after this wala ka na pag-asa please don't breed."
On Saturday, March 27, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that President Rodrigo Duterte approved the recommendation to put Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Rizal provinces under ECQ amid the rising COVID-19 cases in the country.
"One week will of course help, pero 'wag kalimutan na we already have restrictions in place for the past week. Itong ECQ natin is for the 2nd week of a two-week period kung saan tayo ay nag-impose na ng tighter restrictions. Malalaman lang natin ang resulta sa two weeks na ito sa susunod na two weeks," Roque said during the televised announcement.
