Rosé of BLACKPINK took a trip down memory lane and recalled her audition for YG Entertainment when the agency went to Australia where she was residing before she became a K-Pop idol.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Rosé shared that she was 16 years old when she auditioned.
“I was there because my dad had told me he noticed that I obviously have a love for music. And he doesn't want me to regret it when I’m older that I haven't tried to pursue anything through it,” she relayed.
Rosé admitted that she thought that she would not be shortlisted. Turned out, she passed the audition that time and received a call from YG.
“I remember just being there in Sydney in the audition room and I’m probably not gonna get in. I did my thing and I was like, just gonna try to enjoy it since I’m probably not gonna get in and I'm just gonna try to remember this moment and get some good memories out of it. And I left and then I got a call. That's very odd,” she stated.
In the same interview, the "On the Ground" singer also shared the moments when she first met the members of BLACKPINK.
According to Rosé, it was Jennie who taught her the customs and practices in South Korea when she arrived in the country.
"She could speak English, she studied in New Zealand... She was letting me know about all these cultures that I thought I knew about but obviously I didn't," she shared.
Meanwhile, she relayed that Lisa was the first one she met in the elevator when she arrived at the company.
“Lisa was this girl from Thailand. And so I was away from home and she was away from home too. So we kinda have that in common," she said.
Rosé described Jisoo as the "cool kid" when she first met her. "Now I know she's the goofiest girl ever and she's so cool," Rosé said.
