After the official launch of ABS-CBN’s partnership with WeTV and iFlix last March 17, Kapamilya shows like FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Huwag Kang Mangamba, and Init Sa Magdamag were introduced as part of the streaming platform’s major content push for 2021. In attendance at the virtual trade launch were Init Sa Magdamag’s star Gerald Anderson who talked about his latest role with co-stars Yam Concepcion and JM de Guzman.
“Ako si Dr. Christopher Salcedo, si Tupe, isa akong community doctor na ang passion niya ay tumulong sa iba because meron siyang past na galing din sa isang political family and medyo may mga nangyari sa pamilya niya na that changed yung goals and tide niya sa buhay. And kababata niya si Rita yung character ni Yam (Concepcion) and yung journey ng dalawa is para sa akin, one of the greatest love stories that I’m privileged to do and I was able to do so it’s very exciting dahil yung mga eksena namin, siyempre sa trailer napaka sexy, mainit, nakakasilaw nga sabi ni Yam. Napakalalim ng kuwento eh. Napakalalim ng storya, napakalalim ng bawat character. So madami silang dapat abangan,” Gerald shared during the WeTV iflix x ABS-CBN Partnership Launch.
Playing his rival onscreen for the first time is JM de Guzman who describes his role as a passionate but troubled man.
“Yung character ko dito si Peterson Alvarez, galing siya sa isang political family na well-off pero wala siyang direction sa buhay. Party, drugs, everything. Then he met this woman na makakapagpabago sa kanya and yun pa lang ang puwede ko sabihin sa plot pero magkakaroon sila ng desisyon mag-asawa na gugulo sa lahat at mag-ki-create ng conflict ng story naming tatlo,” he said.
With a story about a love triangle marked not only by love, but by passion, betrayal and a sense of family, Init Sa Magdamag will premiere on WeTV and iflix VIP on April 17, 46 hours before local broadcast on cable and free TV.
