Actress-singer Sharon Cuneta has decided to adopt the stray dog she met while filming her movie Revirginized in Olongapo City.
She shared the good news to her millions of followers on Instagram on Wednesday, March 17.
Referring to celebrity stylist and makeup artist Fanny Serrano, who recently suffered a massive stroke, Sharon wrote: "In the middle of a very scary, uncertain time in my life where the life of a confidante/mother-figure/loyal friend and long-time make-up artist whom I have loved for three decades seems to be on the brink... when I didn’t get to sleep a wink at all last night and am just having my first bite of food for the whole day, which I spent lying in bed and in darkness... God sent a ray of sunshine, a suddenly full heart, joy in the midst of pain and fear.
"SOMEONE FOUND THE DOG I FELL IN LOVE WITH IN OLONGAPO!!!" she said, crediting Jervy Castillo of The Homeless Dog Shelter in Subic for rescuing the dog.
It was on Tuesday, March 16, when Sharon first posted about the "aspin" (asong-Pinoy) she found at a beach resort in Olongapo while filming scenes for Revirginized, her upcoming movie with Rosanna Roces and Marco Gumabao.
"Ito po yung Aspin na pinapahanap ko sa Olongapo, sa saradong beach resort na set namin ko siya nakita. Sana talaga inuwi ko na siya. Napakasweet. May sakit sa balat at halos sumara na mga mata sa muta. Baka may makakilala sa inyo sa Olongapo. Malambing ang asong ito sa akin di ko makalimutan. Sana makita siya," Sharon said at the time.
In her latest post, Sharon expressed happiness that the stray dog "that was meant to be mine," whom she decided to name Pawi, was rescued.
"I could never stop thinking about you and now I cannot wait to hold you and love you the way you have always deserved to be!" she said.
"When you walked up to me and I patted your head, then you rubbed your face so very gently and lovingly on my leg, you seemed like you wanted me to take you home with me. And now, after the great vets there are done treating you, you are coming HOME to me!" she added.
Sharon promised to love and take good care of Pawi, saying he will be treated like a prince and "be loved like [he's] never been loved before."
"They say you are about 8 years old... Oh, what life must have made you go through! You are safe now, baby boy. Mama’s here now and I will love you. I will make the rest of your years happy and you will NEVER have to search or beg for food again or a place to sleep where you would feel safe. Never have to panic to seek shelter from the rain and other elements," she said.
"I love you. I fell in love with you the moment we met and I should have brought you home right then. But all will be well now. All IS well now! I cannot wait to see you again and this time hold you and love you!" she added.
