Television host Mariel Rodriguez released a vlog on Wednesday, March 17, which documented her weight loss journey.
According to Mariel, she started at 197 lbs—which is the heaviest she's weighed—in December and she is now down to 155 lbs as of today.
“At my heaviest, I was 197 lbs. Uulitin ko po, almost 200 lbs. Today, ano na po ako, 155 lbs! So I already lost a total of 42 lbs," she said.
Mariel said it was after she finished breastfeeding her second daughter, Gabriella, when she started to go on a diet.
She enlisted the help of Nadine Tengco, a US-certified fitness nutritionist and chef who has helped create diet programs for other celebrities like Anne Curtis, KC Concepcion, and Iza Calzado.
“The main thing here is ‘yung mindset mo. It’s all about portioning... Remember that portion control is the key," said Mariel, who also shared the recipes of her favorite dishes—Kani salad and a “healthy” version of barbecue chopped chicken salad.
Aside from a healthy diet, Mariel also credited regular exercise for her weight loss.
Ending her vlog, Mariel advised those who also want to lose weight to "set a goal for yourself and stick to that goal."
"Alam mo ‘yun, eyes on the prize," she said.
“When you’re dieting, the only kalaban that you really have is yourself, so kailangan labanan mo lang," she added.
