Former actress Bianca Lapus has contracted the novel coronavirus and is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital after developing pneumonia.

Her sister, character actress Marnie Herrera, shared the news on Facebook on Wednesday, March 17.

“This virus hits close to home. My parents and my sister Kyla have been in and out of the hospital since last year due to different illnesses and that has put an emotional strain to our family,” she wrote.

“But this is the first time that one of us is sick with this virus,” Marnie added.

She then asked her family and friends to pray for her sister, “who is being treated in the hospital for COVID-19 and pneumonia.”

“Lord heal us all,” she added, along with the hashtags #COVID19, #PrayersForMyFamily, #GODisincontrol, and #StayingStrong.

On her own Facebook account, Bianca thanked all those who have sent their prayers and messages of support.

“FIGHTING. Thank you for all the heartfelt messages, most of all for being my prayer warriors,” said the former actress, who also expressed gratitude over her family all testing negative for COVID-19.

“But please continue to pray for my battle with COVID-19 and my pneumonia on both lungs,” she went on. “Sobrang hirap. Ang sakit... dami tests, gamot... nakaka-praning. The agony of waiting to recover and hug my children. The sacrifices of my hubby taking care of everyone. My siblings taking turns sending food to me and my kids at home, checking on us each day. The frontliners who work so hard taking care of us. Iba pala pagmakita mo at ma-experience mo ng actual I appreciate them more.

“I'm still not stable especially emotionally. But I am fighting,” said Bianca. “MY FAITH IS BIGGER THAN MY FEARS. EVEN BIGGER THAN THIS VIRUS! WE HAVE AN AMAZING GOD FULL OF MIRACLES! HE WILL HEAL ME AND RESTORE MY BODY!”

Bianca, 43, is currently confined at The Medical City in Pasig.
