Actress Andrea Brillantes went out of her comfort zone as she appeared on the cover of the March 2021 issue of MEGA Magazne.
In one of the images shot by Dookie Ducay, Andrea is seen wearing dark makeup while sporting a short wig and a black lace-up dress with cut-outs by local designer AJ Javier.
Another cover sees Andrea in a black latex bodysuit and metallic tube dress with leather accent details by designers Jaz Cerezo and Bessie Besana, respectively.
Finally, in the last cover, Andrea looked glamorous as she posed in a black ruffled dress by Vinces Design Studio.
Speaking with MEGA Magazine, Andrea, who turned 18 last Friday, March 12, talked about being part of show business since she was 10, as well as her future plans for herself and her career.
"Definitely, what changed in my career are the roles that I’m doing," said Andrea, as she shared the changes she's experienced in her career since she started acting eight years ago. "Hindi na siya mga pangbata at teeny bopper roles. Mas malalim na ang mga karakter na ginagawa ko.”
When asked about her plans for the second half of her acting career, the actress said: "Well, definitely to be able to pursue more challenging characters that you wouldn’t expect me doing. I want to do stories that my audience relates to. Katulad ng risks of social media and how it affects my generation.
"I would like to tackle sensitive topics such as eating disorders, body dysmorphia, bullying, and many more.”
As for how she dealt with growing up under the public eye, Andrea shared: "Mahirap siya kasi people judge what you do on a daily basis. So I mastered the art of deadma. 'Wag na lang pansinin ang mga comments."
The actress also shared her advice to aspiring actors who want to make it big like her.
“'Wag sumuko and always do your best. Sa industriya namin madaming laging nagsusulputan na mga artista. So, if you are given a break, go do your best. Stand out. Minsan lang mabigyan ng ganyang pagkakataon. Don’t waste it," she said.
