Aside from a busy showbiz career, Gerald Anderson also enjoys personally handling his businesses, the Hayati private resort in Batangas and his gym The Th3d Floor gym in Quezon City. But because of the pandemic, he admitted to having to really save his money to compensate for loss of business during the lockdown.

“Oh yes, ngayon sobra. I think nung mas bata bata ako mas sasakyan. So yun yung blessing. So tiis at perseverance lang. Mas thorough, mas pulido yung finances ko,” he explained during the Rogin-E #StaminaForMen event.

This year, Gerald said he still wants to prioritize his investments that he considers his passion outside basketball and acting.

But I’m very grateful na may ganung opportunity ako. Iba talaga pag tinayo mo talaga from wala. Tapos makikita yung progress niya, parang yung sa gym na gumaganda yung katawan, mas masaya sila, mas motivated sila, parang yun yung fulfillment ko as a gym owner. And dun sa resort naman, outlet din siya sa mga taong humiwalay sa Maynila, sa mga trabaho nila and they can also relas,” he explained.

Despite all the challenges he faced last year which includes the shutdown of ABS-CBN, Gerald still considers himself lucky to continually have work. The 32-year-old actor is currently preparing for his new soap Init Sa Magdamag.

“Malayong malayo (na ako) sa dati. Hindi lang din sa adjustments. Siyempre yung nangyari sa ABS-CBN, pero I’ve been blessed pa rin. Ang daming pumapasok na work and ngayon lang ako nakauwi sa bahay kasi nga nag-taping ako for six months so I’ve been very blessed. But the pandemic and yung lockdown has taught me so much. Kahit gaano kaganda na sports car na meron ako, walang silbi during the pandemic. So kaya ko palang mabuhay ng walang magarang sasakyan. Mabubuhay ako sa simpleng buhay lang and mas nag-e-enjoy ako,” he said.
