After starting off the year with their first project as new hosts of Bida Star, Aljon Mendoza and Karina Bautista, the former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemates share just how lucky they feel to be noticed for their hard work.
“Grabe sobrang flattered naman kami sa word na in demand pero throughout the years thankful kami at least patuloy yung work namin, kahit nagkaroon ng pandemic we were very blessed so in return naman binibigay namin lahat yung best namin with workshops and we try to be better with every performance. Hindi rin namin ini-expect, siguro dahil nasa performance din yun. Thankful kami and of course with the help of a lot of people, our management, yung mga supporters namin, our friends, sa patuloy na pagbibigay ng opportunities sa amin. Kasi we know we have a lot to improve pero binibigyan kaming chance para i-improve yun, yun yung mahalaga,” Karina said.
Aljon said they still have a lot to learn but will only try better with each opportunity given to both of them. “Very ambitious kasi kaming dalawa. At saka parang hindi kami nakukuntento sa mga bagay na halimbawa kakatapos lang namin nagawa. Gusto namin higitan pa namin sa susunod na ginagawa namin. Very thankful kami na binibigyan kami ng chance para to be better and salamat sa mga supporters namin thank you hindi nila kami iniiwan,” he added.
As one of the love teams rising in popularity in showbiz right now, Karjon said they consider it a huge compliment to be compared to other successful love teams of the network.
“Nakakabasa din kami minsan na sinasabi nila kami daw ay susunod sa yapak nito, halimbawa sa Kathniel or Lizquen or ano mang love team na sobrang bigatin. Every time na nababasa namin sobrang flattered kami at saka natutuwa pero hindi namin siya pinapasok sa utak namin as much as possible tina-try namin gumawa ng sarili naming path at sa tingin naman namin we’re doing well,” Aljon shared.
Karina said that they get along well with the other love teams even if they are being compared to each other.
“We help each other out, walang grabeng away or competition na hilahan. Uplift lang. That’s one thing I’m very proud of with the Star Hunt family, talagang go lang, support support lang. I don’t see a huge problem with it. Alam ko naman na very normal yan PBB days pa lang uso na yung pag-compare. So, we’ve been there, done that. Pero to be compared to Lizquen, Kathniel, Jadine and the like grabe yun. Ang saya rin naman namin na nakikita nila na malaki yung future para sa amin. Of course, we want to be different in this industry that’s why we’re named Karjon,” she explained.
