BinJin fans all over the world were delighted upon the release of Crash Landing On You (CLOY) stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin’s first-ever couple commercial last Valentine’s Day after they officially admitted their relationship last January 1. And, it seems that there will be more.
Philippine telecommunications brand Smart’s SVP and Head for Consumer Wireless Business Jane Basas, during a virtual press conference on Monday, February 22, admitted that putting the two together in a campaign was not originally part of the plan. However, because there was a huge clamor for the two, they had to oblige.
The first TVC of the couple together, she added, was actually part of a second contract already. It will be remembered that the two were separately launched – with Hyun Bin in June 2020, and Son Ye Jin in August. The two then starred in a joint commercial last February as part of the brand’s 5G campaign.
“We decided to immediately renew both their contracts because the first contract of Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin was covered with the first two commercials, right? But we decided to renew them early simply because we wanted to deliver the promise of the two of them together in one campaign, and that had to be covered by a separate contract,” Jane said.
With this said, what else is next for BinJin?
“So the question as to whether we will see them again in the future, in another campaign, really depends on their schedules. They’re very busy but what I can promise is that they still owe us a visit to the Philippines so I’m hoping, you know, everything normalizes because as a fan, I’d love to see them here. In the meantime, what we’re trying to fix is a live online event, whether they’re there separately or together is something that we still have to fix in the next few weeks,” she said.
Furthermore, having shot the commercial for two days – last January 12 and 22, Jane disclosed that the first TVC was not complete yet, and that there will be a second part. “The scenes that you saw in the first commercial is not the complete scene so there’s going to be a part two, right? Where they will be together end to end, so that’s even be more kilig than TVC one,” she added.
