Actor Miko Raval has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Kaira Dimatulac.
The couple got married in a private ceremony in Bella Rosa Gardens in Silang, Cavite on Monday, February 1.
Photos from the event were posted by Nice Print Photography online.
In a recent interview with PUSH, Miko said he and Kaira initially planned on having a big ceremony, but ended up having a smaller wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Before the pandemic kasi, ayun nga, we have a venue na that we have paid for… the reservations and all. So, ‘nung nagka-pandemic, during the lockdown ‘nung March, we were thinking na ‘okay, sige tuloy lang natin.’ We didn’t know naman na it was going to be this long, di ba?” he said.
Miko and Kaira got engaged in December 2019, during their trip to South Korea.
"Found myself a real 'killer' bride in @kairadimatulac," said the actor, who played Fabio Serrano in the 2019 series The Killer Bride topbilled by Maja Salvador, in his post announcing the engagement.
"No words are enough to describe how our journey has been the past 7 years. She's played a big part why I became 'Papa Fabio.' She was there from day 1 supporting me when all I had was dreams, she was there during my hard times. She's my ride or die. My best friend, my everything," he added.
Previously on Magandang Buhay, Miko shared that he met his girlfriend when they were college students at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
“Exciting siya for me kasi nung college kami hindi naman namin napapag-usapan nga. Ta’s parang exciting na mag-grow together hanggang you reach that point na ikakasal na nga kayo," said Miko.
According to Miko, even prior to shooting The Killer Bride, he already bought a ring that he would use to propose to his girlfriend.
“Leading up to the month of December, wala talaga akong plano. Tapos siguro a month before, doon ko na naplano lahat. Knowing her for seven years [alam] ko na very personal yung gusto niya, [kaya] gusto ko kaming dalawa lang talaga,” he shared.
“Gusto ko [sana] parang winter wonderland, so na-disappoint pa ako nung pagdating namin do’n sabi ko, ‘Ay walang snow,'" explained Miko, when asked why he chose to propose in Korea. "Gusto ko lang naman ng white background na ano—buti na lang pagdating namin sa tuktok may snow na."
According to Miko, he and Kaira are set to have their honeymoon in Palawan.
“Since pandemic at ang hirap mag-travel abroad, we decided to look for places locally. So nakapag-decide kami sa Palawan na lang… I think that’s the best option kasi sobrang dali ngayon dahil ang daming companies na nag-ooffer na para nga silang one stop shop. So ‘yun ‘yung buong package, you get the flight, you get the hotel, you get the food… Parang four days lang kami ‘dun and then we go back to work," he said.
