Vice President Leni Robredo and actress-singer Rachel Alejandro exchanged good words on social media after a Facebook post likening them to one another went viral.
On Saturday night, January 30, a netizen named Mark Raven Dominguez posted a photo of Rachel with the caption: "Nasaan ang bise presidente? Busy naman pala sa Palawan. Ughhhh." Dominguez had apparently confused Rachel for the VP.
"Was initially confused why a number of people are sending me this," said VP Leni on Facebook, in response to the viral post.
"Kalma lang po. Hindi ako yan. Andito po ako sa opisina, wala sa Palawan," she continued. "Ako na po ang humihingi ng paumanhin kay Rachel Alejandro."
In the comment section of Leni's post, Rachel said she, too, received a lot of comments comparing her to the vice president when she posted her photo on Instagram.
“VP Leni, ako din po, I got so many comments that I look like you when I posted that photo on IG," said Rachel. "Napa-smile nalang ako. Basta pag may movie tungkol sa buhay niyo, may idea na kayo sino ang puwedeng mag-portray."
The actress-singer then thanked VP Leni for everything that she's doing as the country's vice president.
"I don’t believe we’ve properly met but let me use this opportunity to thank you for all that you do,” she said.
Likewise, Leni thanked Rachel for being gracious about the whole incident.
“Nakakahiya sayo, Rachel. Thank you for being very gracious about it," she wrote.
"Pasensiya na, nadamay ka. But I am so flattered to be compared to you,” she added.
