Aljon Mendoza and Karina Bautista host the new season of ‘Bida Star’ talent search

After hosting the first season of the artista search show Bida Star, Aljon Mendoza and Karina Bautista said they are more than happy to return to hosting duties for the show’s latest season called Bida Star Gandang Naturally Fresh.“Hindi namin talaga siya ini-expect although kami ang unang host ng Bida Star for last season. Nakuha ulit kami o thankful kami na patuloy na opportunity na binibigay nila. Kung dati, abot tanaw mo lang yung pangarap mo, ngayon abot kamay ko na. So talaga namang madami pa kaming dapat i-improve pero we are so grateful na ito na ang magiging stepping stone namin kasi madami naman kaming natututunan and dito kami na-te-train. So andito kami as hosts again ngayon naman together with AshTan (Ashley Del Mundo and Tan Roncal) so thrilling and sobrang exciting din kami sa mga bagong set of Bida Star aspirants. Nag-celebrate kami ng separate at ako naman with family, normal lang naman, wala namang something new. Hindi naman lumabas dahil safety first. Masaya naman,” Aljon explained.Karina said they were more focused on work than having any celebration. “Actually before Valentine’s in-advance na namin kasi alam naming ma-ka-quarantine kami for a special event. Ako naman nag-celebrate lang dito sa condo, kumain, nag-order ng manok at liempo, nag-softdrinks, ayun. Parang happy naman yung heart ko. Yun pa lang okay na,” she added.After joining <a href='https://ent.abs-cbn.com/pbbotso'>Pinoy Big Brother Otso</a> (PBB) in 2018 and becoming the love team dubbed as “KarJon,” Karina said her friendship with Aljon has only gotten better through the years. “Kapag friends na kasi kayo you get to be comfortable with each other. So throughout the years, ngayon almost mag-ti-three years na kaming magkakilala so yung mga flaws namin, alam na namin sa isa’t isa,” she said.
