Ian Veneracion on being directed by actress Sunshine Dizon: ‘Hindi mo halata na first time’

As one of the stars of the new WeTV Philippines’s original series B&B: The Story Of The Battle of Brody and Brandy, Ian Veneracion said he breezed through their six-day lock-in shoot for the project last year.“Na-enjoy ko talaga yung shoot because of our location, the weather was perfect, medyo inulan lang tayo ng ilang araw pero ang sarap ng weather. Kasundo ko lahat ng katrabaho ko. Ang sarap sarap lang ng feeling ng ganun. Meron kaming isang long table kung saan yung standby and ang sarap pag nandun ka nakikipagkuwentuhan, nag-ko-coffee. Sobrang relaxed and parang pamilya. Kasi bilang artista siya. Yung input pagdating sa eksena, meron kaming scene ni Ketchup (Eusebio) and the way we read our lines, yung normal lang as per script. Tapos binigyan niya ng twist. Sabi niya, ‘Subukan niyong ibahin yung atake na ganito, ganyan.’ And then we tried it again and it then it turned out much more layered and complex na sobrang na-appreciate ko.“Kasi pag ginagawa mo yung eksena sometimes you see it on a per scene basis lang. Pero she has that foresight na yung scene after this, so mas nakikita niya yung kabuuan kasi tinitingnan niya from a director’s point of view and ang laki laking tulong nun. And ang dali sa kanyang i-convey, madali sa amin maintindihan kasi nga she’s been an actor for so long. I think she did a wonderful, wonderful job. Hindi mo halata na first time. Kung hindi nila sinabi sa akin hindi ko mahahalata na first time niya mag-direct.
