After getting married in 2011, singer Juris Fernandez said she is very happy juggling her career and her homemaker duties with her non-showbiz husband Gavin Lim and their two sons Giddy and Geordi. Even during Valentine’s day, Juris said she loves spending it with her family.
“Siguro through the years nag-change simula nung nag-asawa din ako how we celebrate. Minsan may mga celebration na hindi lang kami, minsan may celebration na puwedeng kami lang tapos meron din with the kids para they know about celebrating Valentine’s day. Tapos pag may concert, hindi naman nasasabay sabay yan,” she shared during the Hearts On Fire: Juris and Jed presscon.
With the country still doing quarantine, Juris said they are keeping extra safe by staying home. “Kami ng husband ko, hindi pa kami nakapag-date na punta kami ng restaurant, ganyan. Hindi pa namin kaya pumunta ng restaurant. Tingnan natin towards the end of the year. Kasama namin yung mga kids dito sa bahay lahat kami dito. Yun pa lang yung plan. Basta magkakasama sama. That’s what’s important,” she said.
With her free concert with Jed Madela Hearts On Fire: Juris and Jed happening on Valentine’s weekend this year, Juris saiid she hopes their songs can entertain and help spread romance to viewers online.
“Pag napapalibutan ka ng mga taong nag-e-express ng love nila sa ‘yo, hindi lang sa pamilya, even yung mga sumusuporta sa amin sa social media kasi diyan na tayo nag-ko-connect ngayon eh. So on fire lagi. Excited nga ako for February 13,” she said.
During the press event for their concert, Juris shared a message for Pinoys working abroad who are not able to be with their loved ones for Valentine’s day this year.
“Huwag kayong malungkot guys. You know we’re here for you and one of the things na paraan namin nila Jed na hopefully will comfort you is yung mga ganito tulad ng February 13 at hopefully that’s how we want to reach out to you guys to let you know that we’re here for you kung ano man yung pinagdadaanan niyo and then hopefully nga ma-realize niyo na yung mga bagay na ganyan temporary naman yung pakiramdam na yan talaga and let’s count our blessings. Alam mo malaking blessing itong techniology because right now we get to really still reach out to each other pag mga ganito lik through social media, mga video chat. Hang in there guys,” she said.
The 42-year-old singer also reminded her fellow kababayans to keep positive and focus on what’s truly important in their lives.
“Lagi niyong isipin na ang laking bagay din ng ginagawa niyo para sa mga mahal niyo sa buhay and what you do is an expression of love dun sa mga taong minamahal niyo and yun yung pinaka importante. Tuloy lang tayo sa pagdarasal and siguro ngayon kung hindi kayo makakauwi because of what’s happening right now, the most important things na isipin na lang natin is everyone is healthy and safe kasi yun naman ang importante. That’s how we also want to express how much we care and love for your family and loved ones. Huwag kayong malungkot. Music ang puwede namin ibigay sa inyo kaya samahan niyo na rin kami. Para sa inyo talaga yan. Magkita kita tayo soon,” she added.
