Taylor Swift has announced that the re-recorded version of her sophomore album Fearless will be released on April 9.
Called Fearless (Taylor's Version), the re-recorded album will contain 26 tracks, which includes six songs that were not part of the 2008 version of the album.
In her note, Taylor said that Fearless was that album that paved the way for her unbreakable bond with her fans.
"When I think back on the 'Fearless' album and all that you turned it into, a completely involuntary smile creeps across my face. This was the musical era in which so many inside jokes were created between us, so many hugs exchanged and hands touched, so many unbreakable bonds formed. So before I say anything else, let me just say that it was a real honor to get to be a teenager alongside you," she said.
The singer described it as "an album full of magic and curiosity, the bliss and devastation of youth."
She added, "It was the diary of the adventures and explorations of a teenage girl who was learning tiny lessons with every new crack in the facade of the fairytale ending she'd been shown in the movies."
Taylor remarked that re-recording her album is her making a stand that artists should own their own work.
It can be recalled that music manager Scooter Braun bought her master recordings from Big Machine Label Group in 2019.

“I’ve spoken a lot about why I’m remaking my first six albums but the way I’ve chosen to do this will hopefully help illuminate where I’m coming from. Artists should own their own work for so many reasons, but the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really knows that body of work," she stated.
Taylor described the process of re-recording Fearless as more "fulfilling and emotional than I could've imagined." She shared that it made her even more determined to re-record all her music.
Concluding her note, she announced that she will be releasing "Love Story (Taylor's version)" on Friday, February 12.
