With his first film with Belle Mariano all set to premiere this week, Donny Pangilinan said creating ‘kilig’ scenes with his Love is Color Blind co-star has now become more comfortable after working closely together on the teen romance series He’s Into Her.
“What’s interesting is yung mga scenes namin we’re getting more familiar with how to do them and stuff but what direk wanted to make sure was, hindi mo gagawin yung usual na gagawin mo. Kaya dun siya nagiging mas challenging,” he said.
With their second project as a love team done, Donny revealed what his new discoveries were with Belle.
“Marami pa rin ako nalaman kasi siyempre iba rin yung experience ng lock-in. There is always something new I will learn from Belle. But I know already na sobrang hardworking niya, gagawin niya ang lahat para lang makuha ang scene or yung kailangan ng role niya. Butmore and more I see it. More and more it’s evident especially dito sa lock-in na ‘to. Ang dami naming pinagdaanan na challenges na sobrang hirap minsan. Pero nakita ko talaga na there’s nothing that will stop her from learning and from showing what needs to be shown. I learn that more and more everyday,” he admitted.
With their rising popularity, the young couple have amassed not just more fans, but also critics online as well, with some bashers questioning Belle’s beauty. Donny said he would be the first to defend his leading lady from lies and negativity.
“First of all, yung mga bashers hindi naman namin masyado pinapansin yun kasi may mga pinagdadaanan din sila. Pero ako mag-a-attest ako, sobrang ganda ni Belle. Honestly, let’s focus on the good things. She’s so talented. She released an album. I’m so proud of her. Belle never stops looking for hope. She never loses that hope. She always focuses on growth an what can be done better. Even if she’s so talented she always tries to strive for more,” he said.
When it comes to resolving conflict between them, Donny said the secret of their good partnership is an open line of communication.
”Unang una, Belle has a good heart. Pangalawa, she loves her craft. She is so supportive and she’s just herself. We’re very straightforward I think so we talk about it. How we communicate with each other, like offscreen and onscreen kasi may effect din yun eh. Pinag-uusapan lang namin yan. You just have to be honest. Communication is the most important,” he added.
