After overcoming a health challenge last year and starring in multiple movies this year under Vivamax, rapper and actor Andrew E said there is a lot he is thankful for during the past year.
“I’m so happy. First of all, naibalik ako sa aking good health wherein one and a half years ago, I got hospitalized and nagkaroon ako ng operation sa aking lower shoulder. And dun pa lang nagpapasalamat na ako na nailigtas ako dun and at the same time naibalik pa ang aking kalusugan and more so. Often I’m thinking na nagpapasalamat din ako sa Panginoon na nabiyayaan din ako ng biyayang hindi natatanggap ng karamihan. So para sa akin doon pa lang nagpapasalamat na ako for 2021,” he shared during the Sanggano, Sanggago’t Sanggwapo 2 mediacon.
With regards to his three-decade long career, the veteran comedian said he is also thankful with how the younger generation have embraced his music and return to acting.
“The mere fact na yung mga kanta ko from 14 to 17 years [ago] na tinti-TikTok, natutuwa ako na kahit luma yung kanta ko and kahit hindi ako active sa social media [scene] eh talagang ina-appreciate ng mga kabataan na yun ang aking music. To the extent na Viva made a way na magkaroon pa ng pelikula under those titles which is yung Shoot! Shoot! and at the same time itong ‘Aussie Aussie’ na under sa Sanggano, Sanggago’t Sanggwapo. So dun pa man ay pasalamat na ako talaga. 2021 is so great for me and I’m looking forward to a very bright and a very energetic 2022,” he admitted.
Compared to his Sanggano, Sanggago’t Sanggwapo 2 co-stars and real-life friends Janno Gibbs and Dennis Padilla, Andrew E shared why he thinks there has never been an issue with him regarding women.
“Wala namang mapag-uusapan sa akin kasi in the 30-year span of my career, halos wala naman akong naging girlfriend or steady except yung the ‘90s. But after that parang in one decade, parang wala naman akong ganun. Then after that nag-asawa na ako around 2000. So it ran two decades na may pamilya na ako and may asawa na ako. So kung gumagawa man ako ng mga movies at album. Parang wala rin naman akong naging parang celebrated na girlfriend or what, parang ganun di ba? I want to be honest much more than I am pero mukha ngang wala eh,” he said.
Currently in the US spending the holidays with his family, Andrew revealed why he is so excited for their end of year plans.
“We will be here until January 3 so of course we’ll be here on New Year’s Eve and at the same time sa New year mismo. Ang countdown na pupuntahan namin dito will be in Universal Studios on December 31. In fact, two years ago they stopped doing that but ngayon i-ri-resume nila ulit and me and family got the tickets already. And at the same time, i-la-live ko yun sa aking Facebook account para makita ng tao that there will be four simultaneous concerts na mangyayari. One kind of music is EDM, one is rock and roll, pop, and then rap or hip-hop. Pero siyempre dun kami sa rap. Ang mag-pe-perform dun si Macklemore na paborito ng anak ko na si Fordy and ako na rin. But that will come after ng fireworks sa Universal Studios. But before that siyempre mag-ra-rides muna kami bago mangyari yun. it will start around nine or 10 pm, start na ng pinaka celebration,” he shared.
