“I really feel that directing is not for me, I don’t know why. I feel that directing is so difficult to do, para sa akin masyadong toxic,” katwiran ng Venice International Film Festival best actor.

I might consider directing it if I was the one created the story. Parang I want to keep the soul of my story, that will make me I think decide to direct if I was the one who wrote the script.

“Pero directing another story written by somebody else I can’t see myself directing at all,” diin pa niya.

Tugon ng aktor, “It was a very popular Korean film, eh.  It was known all over the globe even Hollywood audiences watched the film so it’s very controversial. It is an honor, it is a big deal for me to be part of that.

“Doon naman sa kung paano ko inatake yung role ko, well, if it’s a remake I don’t really watch the originals like I also did in Miracle In Cell No. 7. Because I don’t want to preempt myself and I don’t wanna compare, and I don’t want to have a basis of what the other actor or the other films mounted the film or created it.

“I just based my characterization through the way it was presented by the script with the guidance of my director. That is actually my kind as an actor because I don’t want to copy anyone and I don’t want to base my acting to another interpretation.  I want it to be fresh,” katwiran ng award-winning actor.

Puring-puri naman ni John si Dingdong Dantes bilang katrabaho sa A Hard Day.

“Dingdong is a very respectable actor.  He respects his job, he respects his work as an actor and you can feel that.  So bilang co-actor you cannot just be lazy and just throw yourself in a scene. You also have to be careful handling  scenes with Dingdong kasi napaka-respectable na tao niya.

“He is not just one of those stars na heartthrob – he is an actor. And he finds ways to scrutinize his character and how to do things na very responsible,” komento ni John tungkol kay Dingdong.

“I’m still happy because I’m not typecasted to just doing bad roles. There are some invitations and there are still line-ups for another comedy film, actually two comedy films yon. And then, a dark character again, and a lot more exciting projects.
