In case you missed it, international hit makers Elton John and Ed Sheeran have a released a Christmas song together.

Titled “Merry Christmas,” the song’s official music video, which featured the two singer-songwriters, premiered early this month, December 3 via Ed Sheeran’s YouTube channel.

With its festive vibe, “Merry Christmas” has become a song to add to a list of yuletide holiday tracks. As of press time, the single has already reached more than 29 million views.

According to a press release, the sales accumulated through this song will be for the benefit of Elton and Ed’s charitable organizations. “During the 2021 Christmas period, Ed Sheeran’s and Elton John’s global record and publishing royalties from the single and profits from sales of the single will be donated equally between the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation and The Elton John AIDS Foundation,” it read.

Ed established his music foundation to cater to young people living in Suffolk, United Kingdom, where he grew up, to help them pursue music. Elton’s AIDS foundation, on the other hand, has been established since 1992, with the mission of ending the virus and the stigma that comes along with it.

Aside from the new Christmas song, Ed recently released his fourth studio album called "=" or pronounced as “equals”, on October 29. Days prior, Elton also released his 32nd studio album called “The Lockdown Sessions” on October 22.
