Samantha Bernardo could not help but be emotional upon sharing her pageant journey with Big Brother.

In an episode of Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10, the housemate and Miss Grand International 2020 first runner-up shared the challenges she faced when she was joining beauty pageants.

The topic came up when Samantha chose to open the black boxes containing the names of Alexa Ilacad and Jordan Andrews, the housemates who nominated her for eviction and their reasons on why they picked her.

Samantha remarked that she had no hard feelings towards them as she is already used to criticisms especially during her pageant days.

\"It's nothing personal na magagalit or magkakaroon ng hiwalayan. Hindi naman po akong ganong tao. At sanay po talaga ako sa mga criticisms,\" she said.

Asked by Big Brother about what were the harshest criticisms she received during her pageant days, Samantha replied, \"Parang halos lagi talaga everytime iyon 'yung nare-receive ko is fake daw ako at saka trying hard,\" she said.

Samantha continued, \"Unang-una I'm not fake. I'm human. I have feelings. Second, parang trying hard... kasi nung pageant ko parang, 'Grabe naman ito. Ang kapal naman ng mukha nito. Lagi naman 'yang runner up.' Siyempre, akala mo 'di 'yun nakakasakit pero part of you... may tama naman sila. At hinaharap ko 'yun. Alam ko sa sarili ko na hinaharap ko 'yun ng buong puso at hindi ako lumalaban ng half-hearted lang kasi gusto ko talaga 'yun.\"

“Now that I know better, I know that I am not plastic. Yes, I'm always trying my best every time, every day because I am a true beauty queen,” she remarked.
