Angelica Panganiban plays her first ‘matalino’ role in The Kangks Show

Angelica Panganiban plays an outspoken sex guru named Dr. Kara Teo who hosts a long-running midnight sex advice program called the The Kangks Show. The actress said she was still on vacation in the US when she got the offer to star in director Antonette Jadaone’s new WeTV series.

And then siyempre alam ko na pagtatrabahuan ko ‘to.

The Kangks Show star said that her current role is very different from her previous projects after almost three decades in showbiz.

Talagang naiiyak ako minsan na ako yung promotor sa ganyan tapos for the first time wala ako. Kasi nga naka-bubble kami so siksik talaga lahat sa isang araw. So yun yung preparations na nagawa ko,” she recalled.

With the show headlined by sex positive female characters, Angelica said she couldn’t help but admire the show created and penned by direk Tonette.

“Natapangan talaga ako. Hindi ako maka-get over dun sa tapang nung pagtawid ng bawat episode hanggang nung natapos ko siya. Hindi ko man naramdaman yung kaba at yung takot. Tapos nung pangalawa, pangatlong basa ko dun pa lang nag-si-sink in sa akin yung oh my God sobrang ganda nito, hindi ko puwedeng kahit sarili ko ma-let down dito. So ganun siguro ka-powerful yung naging dating sa akin nung script. Ganun yung nadama kong energy sa kanya. It’s powerful. Talagang ang tapang tapang nung script,” she admitted.
