Aside from working together on the much anticipated new series 2 Good 2 Be True, Daniel Padilla said real- and reel-life love team partner Kathryn Bernardo is looking forward to supporting him at the premiere night of his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Kun Maupay Man It Panahon which had already made its international run of several film festivals in places like Switzerland, Hawaii, Iraq, London, Mexico, Chicago, Bucharest, Canada, and Singapore.

Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla start taping for new series

Even though he appreciates his girlfriend’s support for his solo project, DJ admitted he will feel self-conscious watching his film with Kath for the first time.

“She’s very supportive. So I think papanuorin niya. Magkasama kami.

Even with his past projects, DJ revealed he is not always as fully confident as he seems when it comes to seeing himself on the big screen.

Even though Kun Maupay Man It Panahon is a big departure from his usual roles onscreen, DJ said he will always be open to doing passion projects that will continue to challenge him as an actor.

It’s for me.

“You have to offer something also for yourself. In terms of production, creatives, lighting production design, sa pag-create ni Carlo, napakagaling talaga,” he explained.

Even though he has starred in many blockbuster film projects like The Hows of Us, Barcelona: A Love Untold, and Crazy Beautiful You, DJ said that he wants to do more than just mainstream projects.

“Naalis ko yun eh. Ayoko yung linalagay yung mainstream fare tapos indie. Kahit anong gawin ko, kahit hindi pa yan sa pag-arte, laging quality muna ako eh over quantity,” he said.

Kun Maupay Man It Panahon stars Daniel Padilla and Charo Santos and is a joint project of Dreamscape, iWant, Quantum Films, Black Sheep, and Globe Studios, with international partner studios in France, Singapore, Indonesia, Germany, and Qatar. Directed by Carlo Francisco Manatad.
