Alessandra de Rossi won best actress, while Allen Dizon took home the best actor award at the 69th FAMAS awards which streamed live on Sunday, December 12.

Alessandra was recognized for her role as a mother of three whose husband was mysteriously murdered in the crime-thriller film Watch List. The movie was directed by Ben Rekhi and was released last year.

"Maraming maraming salamat, FAMAS. I'm very, very touched na kinonsider niyo akong best actress. Gusto ko lang sabihin na napaka-espesyal ng FAMAS para sa akin dahil sila ang nagbigay ng kauna-unahang award ko when I was 17, best supporting actress for Azucena. And 20 years later, my second FAMAS. Best actress naman so parang, 'Whoo!' Baka last ko na 'to, or maybe I did something right again. Who knows?" said Alessandra in her acceptance speech.

For his part, Allen got the best actor award for the movie Latay, about a modest fisherman who suffers from domestic violence at the hands of his wife.

Meanwhile, the movie Magikland—about four kids who got transported to a fantasy world which is a setting of a popular mobile game—took home the most awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Christian Acuña, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sounds.

The 69th FAMAS Awards "give tribute to the best achievements from films that were commercially made available to either streaming or theatres. This edition of one of the country's most reputable award-giving bodies presents the best among this season's crop of masterpieces."
