Carlo Francisco Manatad of 'Kun Maupay Man It Panahon' bags Best Director award at London film fest

Carlo Francisco Manatad bagged the best director award for Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather is Fine) at the London East Asia Film Festival (LEAFF).

LEAFF praised Carlo for his "remarkable, personal, and extraordinary debut feature."

In an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News, Carlo relayed that he is still overwhelmed by the recognition his film achieved.

"It still feels a bit weird for me, I mean like competing with like a lot of films coming from Asia tapos big films. I was actually the youngest one among the batch," he said.

The director extended his gratitude to those who trusted him to tell their stories via the big screen.

"I really would like to thank the people who let me tell the story nong mismong survival nila but also the celebration of life so parang I am really excited dalhin back siya sa Pinas," he stated.
