Gong Yoo's agency Soop categorically denied the rumors that the Korean actor met pop star Taylor Swift in New York recently.
“Gong Yoo is in Korea at the moment. He has not been in NYC for a while; his last visit to NYC was quite a long time ago,” Soop said in a statement as reported by SBS News.
The agency added that the actor is in Korea gearing up to promote his upcoming Netflix series.
"Our actor is busy preparing to promote Netflix’s series The Silent Sea in Korea. The rumors are not true at all," the statement added.
Rumors of Gong Yoo and Taylor meeting in NYC stemmed when DeuxMoi, an Instagram gossip page, posted an email sent by a source claiming that Taylor was spotted with the actor at a New York restaurant. Rumors about the two stars' possible collaboration for a music video then spread like wildfire on social media.
Taylor just recently released Red (Taylor's Version) the re-recording of her 2012 album Red. The pop star has been busy promoting the new record and is set to release other re-recordings in the future.
