Melissa Ricks took to social media to pen a heartfelt message for her husband, Michael Macatangay, as he turned another year older on Wednesday, November 24.
On Instagram, Melissa posted a clip of their wedding reception held in Colony, Kansas in the US last June.
“Happy Birthday to my moody human, @mikeandrewstavrusmac. You are someone I prayed for, and my prayer was granted and here we are. In marriage, it’s not always perfect, but knowing you’re by my side is all that matters! We’re total opposites, but somehow we make it work. Haha. That’s love!” she wrote in the caption.
“I love you. I pray God will always guide us. He brought us together, He will keep us together, and He will help us grow together in faith. May He bless you even more, shower you with all your desires and may you be a blessing to others as well. Happy birthday, my love,” she added.
Melissa tied the knot with her husband in California last May, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The ceremony was simple and intimate, involving only 15 people, and was followed by a reception in her stepfather’s backyard.
Narrating the events of her big day, the actress wrote: “I woke up early, hubby cooked breakfast, we went to the grocery to get some snacks and soda for the guests, went through the drive thru at jack in the box to get churros and tacos, then proceeded home to get ready. I did my own hair and makeup, zipped myself into my gown, drove down to the chapel, had a simple ceremony with 15 people. Afterwards we had the reception in my stepdad's backyard. Couldn't get any simpler than that.”
Melissa revealed getting engaged to her husband in August 2020. The surprise proposal took place in Batangas where they first met and was witnessed by the couple's family and close friends.
Melissa met her husband at Jesus the Anointed One Church in Rosario, Batangas, where the actress would go every Sunday along with her daughter, Kiera (with former partner Charles Togezaki).
Melissa introduced Michael to her followers in November 2019.
