Actress Heaven Peralejo has nothing but gratitude for all the lessons and blessings she received in the past year as she celebrated her 22nd birthday on Thursday, November 25.
Posting a photo of herself at the beach, Heaven wrote on Instagram: “22 rotations around the sun and cheers to more.
“Grateful for all the lessons, blessings, and people in my life that have helped shape the woman I’m becoming. Here’s to thriving, smiling, and riding through the waves of life!”
Earlier this year, Heaven found herself at the center of controversy after her name got dragged into the breakup of her Bagong Umaga co-star Kiko Estrada and his longtime girlfriend, Devon Seron.
At the time, Heaven denied any involvement, stressing that she was not a factor in the split, nor was she “in any way romantically associated with Kiko.” Just several months later, however, she and Kiko confirmed being in a romantic relationship.
But then, shortly after they celebrated their third month together, the two triggered speculations of a breakup, when Kiko unfollowed and deleted all of his photos with Heaven on his Instagram page. The actress did the same a few weeks later, fueling rumors that she and Kiko had parted ways.
At the time, Heaven refused to address speculations of her breakup with Kiko, but stated in an interview that she is now committed to putting self-love first, after going through what she had described as "rollercoaster" months.
“Right now, I’m in the phase of loving myself. No joke," she said. "Every morning and every night, nandoon ako sa mga affirmations. They say, ‘di ba, na ‘pag sinasabi mo ‘yan sa sarili mo, parang magnet iyon, so iyon ‘yung magiging buhay mo. Alam mo, ‘yung mga things na hindi ko alam na kaya kong gawin, nagagawa ko pala, in a good way."
"There's more to it," she added, referring to a life well-lived.
Heaven finally admitted having parted ways with Kiko in a vlog last October, where she confirmed that she is now single.
“I’m single. But not ready to mingle," she said.
Without mentioning Kiko, Heaven said she has moved on from her previous relationship.
“Nandito ako sa phase na… Sobrang cliché, but I’m just loving myself. I’m getting to know me. Ibang phase talaga ‘yon,” she said.
“I am really happy right now, super happy. As in walang bigat sa puso ko, nandoon ako sa phase na ‘yon,” she added.
Heaven, 22, rose to fame after her stint on the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7.
She recently starred in the romance comedy series Pasabuy, opposite fellow PBB alum Gino Roque.
