“I never expected that this would come. As in it’s such a big surprise especially in the midst of the pandemic na bigyan ako ng offer na as good a project as this. Talagang sobrang surprising for me so talagang I’m just really, really blessed right now na ang daming dumadating sa panahon na ‘to. Actually wala talaga akong masabi kundi thank you eh. Thank you sa RCD Creatives team for trusting me once again, for getting me in this show na binigyan talaga ako ng sobrang malaking role dito na talagang pinu-push ako to my limits as an actor.
“Kasi even before this sa Killer Bride as I wouldn’t cry as much, I wouldn’t be as emotional (laughs). Pero dito talagang push na push sa akin and if you know me very well I’m a very happy guy. I’m always smiling. I’m always very jolly. So when it’s my turn to be an actor, a very emotional guy, it’s very hard for me. Kaya very blessed and very challenged at the same time. I’m just really enjoying the ride,” he said.
Miko plays the role of Dan Sicat, the patriarch of a simple family living in the town of Sidero with Dimples Romana playing his wife and actors Charlie Dizon, Karina Bautista, and Louise Miguel playing their three children.
“I’m a loving father of three and a very hardworking man. I’m a tough guy on the outside physically but on the inside I’m a softie so you’ll see more of that on the show. My character will show how it is to be super hardworking in a sense na gagawin mo lahat para sa family mo but then certain circumstances stopped me from being what I can be, parang ganun. I have a furniture shop and I am a loving father and I will do anything to protect my family. Sobrang complex ng character ko so I’m really excited for everyone to be able to watch it on November 15,” he shared.
After getting married to his longtime girlfriend Kaira Dimatulac earlier this year, Miko said a lot has changed since with regards to how he views acting and working on the set.
“Malaking difference kasi the last one I did was back in 2019 and then the two years we’re stuck in a bubble din because of the pandemic. In a sense nag-mature ako dahil parang we all discovered that life is so much more complicated, na hindi siya sobrang easy unlike before na we could go out and do whatever we want. And now when we watch the news, sobrang heavy ng nangyayari around us. So hindi lang siya in terms of me being married na parang nag-mature yung approach ko in terms of acting, it’s also what’s happening around me. It helped also kasi parang when you love someone and when you commit yourself to a marriage, talagang iba na siyang level eh.
“Parang tumanda ako in a sense na mas alam ko na yung ginagawa ko ngayon compared to what I was doing before. So parang nadala ko naman siya sa acting ko dahil mas committed na ako ngayon. Hindi na ako yung parang happy-go-lucky na hindi ko aaralin yun masyado. Ngayon talagang if you give me something talagang aaralin ko siya and I won’t waste any time. I’ll give it my all para hindi sayang yung effort,” he said.
