Young actress Cassy Legaspi caught the attention of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray after she dressed up as the beauty queen for Halloween.
On Sunday, October 31, Cassy surprised her fans and followers as she shared photos of herself wearing Catriona's trademark "Mayon" gown and ear cuff on Instagram.
In her caption, the actress shared an excerpt from the beauty queen's speech as she made her final walk as Miss Universe in 2019. It read: “To everyone with a dream, know that your dreams are valid. And on your path, you are never denied and only redirected."
In the comments box of her post, Catriona shared her reaction, along with other friends and colleagues of Cassy in showbiz.
"Okay, Queen!" wrote the beauty queen, followed by heart eyes and red heart emojis.
Responding to Catriona's comment, a surprised Cassy wrote: "Omg! The Queen herself!!! Thank you so much!"
Cassy, 20, is the only daughter of celebrity couple Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi. She has a twin brother, Mavy, who has also dabbled in acting.
Previously, Cassy shared that it had been the wish of her late grandfather, veteran actor Lito Legaspi, for her to become a beauty queen.
"Before kasi yung lolo ko, the dad of my dad, yung dream niya para sa akin is to be a beauty queen sana," said the actress, as quoted by PEP.ph.
"Sasabihin niya, 'Hmmm ang tangkad mo, ang ganda mo.' 'Lolo, okay lang, huwag na, huwag na po."
When asked if she is willing to pursue her grandpa's dream for her and join beauty pageants, Cassy admitted: "Well, parang... hindi pa ako confident pa sa mga ganun. I mean it's an honor pero... we'll never know. Bata pa po ako.
"So baka, baka next year? Wow! We'll never know."
She then noted that being a beauty queen takes a lot of hard work and dedication, and added, "You think it's all beauty-beauty, ganun lang, but it is more than that."
