Their drama series Huwag Kang Mangamba may have already reached its finale but Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz are showing no signs of slowing down as they reached a new milestone last November 13. The two actresses made their runway model debut as the highlight of local fashion designer Michael Leyva’s show at the Hilton Manila in Pasay City.

The show was part of the Getting Married Bridal Fair which showcased Leyva’s 2022 collection of custom-made gowns. In the past, Leyva has dressed up celebrities like Anne Curtis, Nadine Lustre, Janella Salvador, and Ylona Garcia.

Andrea, who first encountered the designer when she wore his Filipiniana-inspired gown at the 2019 Star Magic Ball, said it was a dream come true to walk the runway as a bridal gown model. In her Instagram account, the 18-year-old actress shared how proud she was to be a red bride.

She wrote, “Last night was truly spectacular. I used to only dream about walking down a runway, but to actually do it while wearing such a beautiful gown was such a humbling moment. Thank you so much @michaelleyva_ for having me last night. It was an honor to not only wear this magical piece, but to also close your fashion show. You have made a lot of women’s dreams a reality through your designs.”

It’s an honor for me to wear one of your beautiful gowns.❤️”

Also part of the fashion show were beauty queens led by the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Gomez who made history as the first openly-bisexual beauty queen in the country. She was joined on the runway by fellow Miss Universe Philippines titlists Maureen Wroblewitz, Victoria Velasquez Vincent, and Steffi Aberasturi.

The designer could not help but thank his celebrity models and show how proud he was of the success of his first fashion show since the beginning of the pandemic. A day after the event, he wrote on Instagram, “Last night was another milestone for my career. My heart is full with gratitude to be the one to finally put up the very first physical fashion show again after almost 2 years here in Manila. To God be all the Glory 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.”
