Ogie Alcasid is now officially part of the It's Showtime family.
The noontime show announced on Saturday, November 13, just in time for its 12th anniversary, that Ogie will be a mainstay host. This was after his hosting stint on the program in October in lieu of Vice Ganda when the latter was in the US for his concerts.
“God is so good. Last year, hindi maganda ’yung year na ’yun for all of us. Lalo na sa’kin. Namatay father ko. Minsan kasi may plano tayo, ’yun pala si Lord may plano. And He's full of suprises. Lord, nilagay mo ko rito. Pagsisilbihan kita araw-araw. Pasasayahin natin ang madlang pipol dahil nilagay nyo po ko dito,” he remarked on the It's Showtime stage on Saturday.
His wife, Regine Velasquez, who visited the show, also delivered a message.
“Maraming salamat for embracing my husband, welcoming him here in Showtime. Ang Showtime kasi pamilya po, buo na. Mahirap may pumasok na bago. It's hard to get along with everyone," she said.
She quipped, "Nung umpisa medyo natatakot ako kasi ang liit-liit na nga nito baka api-apihin."
Various Kapamilya artists also congratulated Ogie for this new milestone in his career.
“I've always been a fan. Sobrang excited ako at ng madlang pipol na madalas ka na namin mapapanood sa Showtime,” Janine Gutierrez in a taped message.
"I just wanna say congratulations for being part of the Showtime family. Because of the wonderful energy that you give, I'm sure you are gonna be the life of the party," Lovi Poe said.
He also received greetings from his kids Sarah, Leila, and Nathaniel.
