Ever since he got cast in his first teleserye role this year, Jake Ejercito said he is still in disbelief of becoming a full-fledged actor.

“You know hanggang ngayon pag nanunuod ako sometimes I still have to pinch myself kasi hindi ako makapaniwala na nasama ako sa isang napakagandang show, nakatrabaho ko si Paulo (Avelino), si Janine (Gutierrez), sila Ms. Pie (Picache) and everyone. I just feel very blessed na unang teleserye ko itong Marry Me Marry You kaya nagpapasalamat talaga ako,” he shared in a recent Marry Me, Marry You virtual press conference.

With avid viewers of the series showing strong reactions to his character Cedric, who plays the third party in the love story of Camille and Andre, Jake said he actually appreciates all the comments, regardless if it’s negative or positive.

“Well for me I guess compliment din yun na mainis sila kay Cedric. I guess as an actor I would like to explore different roles para din ma-challenge yung sarili ko. I’m open to any roles naman, bida or kontrabida. So nakakatuwa dahil they respond to what they’re seeing,” he shared.

Jake revealed that he personally tries to check out what netizens have to say about him and his role when he goes online.

“As long as I have the time, minsan sumasali ako ng Twitter spaces ng fans and I’m very happy kasi every night actually may Twitter spaces. So nakakatuwa kasi they receive our show very warmly. Nagpapasalamat talaga kami form the bottom of our hearts,” he said.

Looking back on his first full-blown acting experience, Jake admitted he still has a long way to go towards honing his new craft.

“I guess you’ll never be happy sa ginawa mo. If anything, natutunan ko mahalin. Na-enjoy ko siya. Which I guess is what’s important. And of course I also have to thank yung co-stars like si Janine and si Paulo and the rest of our co-stars. They were really helpful, encouraging, and very approachable. Talagang they made me feel comfortable as a newcomer,” he added.
