Nearly a month since she gave birth to her first child, former Miss Universe Philippines Rachel Peters is embarking on a new fitness journey to get back her pre-pregnancy body.
On her Instagram page, Rachel shared an old photo of herself in a bikini, as she expressed her excitement over her return to exercise post-partum.
"Posting this as motivation and in honor of my first workout post-partum (happening tomorrow and which I am SO excited about!!)" she captioned the photo.
"I am amazed that my body grew and made the most perfect little girl, who was the size of a blueberry in this photo but ngl (not going to lie) I’m happy to have my body back—to lay on my stomach, eat prosciutto, to surf, do jumping jacks and to fit into my clothes again!!" she added.
Nevertheless, the Filipina-British beauty queen said that she is not putting any pressure on herself to get her old figure back, and instead promised to take things slow.
"Jumping back on the fitness train tomorrow with absolutely no pressure and will be taking things slow," she said. "So if any mamas have suggestions on what workouts I should do, pls pls share your wisdom."
Rachel, 30, announced her pregnancy through a social media post last May. She then gave birth to Kaia Rose, her first child with her husband, politician Migz Villafuerte, in October.
The couple got engaged in 2019 and was supposed to get married in Indonesia last year. However, they were forced to postpone their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Even though our plans to get married had to be postponed for now, we decided to make some changes to our lifestyle with one goal in mind: starting a family," Rachel and Migz said in a previous vlog entry.
"We are incredibly grateful for this blessing that's come at such a crazy time in the world, and we're so excited to see what the future has in store for us."
The couple went on to get married in a civil wedding ceremony held at the Supreme Court last July, on the occasion of their seventh anniversary together.
Rachel rose to fame after representing the Philippines in the 2017 Miss Universe pageant, where she finished in the Top 10.
