After starting out in showbiz a decade ago as a child actress, Alyanna Angeles said that even if she already has several shows under her belt, Huwag Kang Mangamba was still a totally different kind of project for her.
“Na-enjoy ko kasi bago nga siya. It was the first time and I’m always open to new roles and parang bago lang, just explore. It was pretty challenging because this is my first kontrabida role. It took me a while to get the hang of it. Pero with the help of good advice and words of wisdom, I just kind of learned how to get the hang of it na lang and sa taping lagi akong may natutunan na something new and I always try to bring out something new in every scene kasi siyempre I’m with my co-actors and interacting with them makes me learn a lot from them as well. It’s very challenging din,” she shared.
At 18 years old, Alyanna has definitely graduated from being a child star. But the talented actress said she considers each and every acting opportunity as a blessing especially with her latest project Huwag Kang Mangamba.
“Siyempre sobrang thankful na nakaranas ako na maging part ng show na ‘to at gampanan ang role na ‘to and makatrabaho yung mga veteran actors and marami akong natutunan sa kanila. Parang challenging siya talaga for me so this is something new for me. Ako naman I can’t predict or can’t say when the right time (for me) really is. Parang feeling ko hindi ko masasabi pero ako thankful lang ako na nangyari ito at a young age na-experience ko lahat ‘to,” she said.
Playing the daughter of Mercedes Cabral and niece of Eula Valdes in the series, Alyanna said she learned a lot from working with the talented character actresses.
“It was challenging but I’m very comfortable with the both of them and I’m so thankful na nakatrabaho ko sila and ka-eksena ko sila kasi I learn a lot from them. Like what kind of energy to give in a scene and how much to give and how to deliver the lines.
‘It’s like with mama Eula parang we all formed like a motherly bond na rin kaya comfortable ako sa kanya. They give me motherly advice outside of taping din.
“Pero ang natutunan ko talaga is acting is reacting to your co-actors and feeling the scene sinabi rin sa akin yan ni tita Sylvia (Sanchez). Na kunwari sa eksenang ito hindi ako si Alyanna, ako si Sophia so dadamahin ko siya. And makinig ako sa sinasabi ng ka-eksena ko, na hindi lang ako dapat naka-focus sa lines ko na kelan ako magbabato or kung kelan yung cue ko. Dapat makikinig ako sa sinasabi niya para mas totoo yung scene at mas natural. And siyempre outside of taping ang sinasabi sa akin ni mama Eu is to always humble and just be myself,” she explained.
