Last October 8, after filing his certificate of candidacy for vice-president, Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan received a message of support from his stepdaughter KC Concepcion that same day. The 36-year-old actress shares a very close relationship with her stepfather who has been married to her mom Sharon Cuneta for the past 25 years. He will also be the running mate of Vice President Leni Robredo in next year’s elections.
In the post, KC shared an old family photo taken with sisters Frankie and Miel who were both still toddlers during that time. She wrote, “Your love for family and country is genuine and true. Thank you for all the things that you do. This is our family’s biggest milestone yet…
“Dad, whatever the outcome, let the welfare of others be your motivation and strength.
“A Harvard alumnus. A UP and La Salle raised lawyer. An Ateneo professor. 20 years of serving the people as Senator.
“You deserve my vote and the Vote of the People. May God bless the long journey towards becoming the next Vice President of the Philippines. Mahal kita. ”
Kiko replied with a loving comment after seeing KC’s post, whom he referred to as his eldest daughter after legally adopting her when KC turned 16 years old. “Thank you for the love and support, my eldest. It means so much. God's purpose not mine. We surrender the effort to the Almighty. The battle is His. Love you too.”
KC Concepcion is currently based in Los Angeles, California after flying to the US last June to continue her study of gemology. Sharon married Kiko in 1996 after the annulment of her marriage to KC’s father Gabby Concepcion in 1993. Aside from her two half-siblings Frankie and Miel, KC also has brother named Miguel who was adopted by Sharon and Kiko almost a decade ago.
