ABS-CBN has released a statement following Karla Estrada's recent filing of her certificate of candidacy (COC) as the third nominee of Tingog Party List in the May 2022 elections.
The press statement dated October 9 read:
"In her desire to continue serving her kababayans, Karla Estrada has decided to run for public office.
“We respect her decision and wish our Kapamilya well as she pursues her mission of service."
Karla's COC filing yesterday, October 8, as a nominee of the Tingog Party List has been lambasted by netizens, particularly KathNiel fans, that the hashtag #WithdrawKarlaEstrada trended on Twitter on Friday.
Tingog Party List voted against the renewal of ABS-CBN's franchise last year. Its current representative is Yedda Romualdez.
Karla Estrada entered show business through the ‘80s variety show That's Entertainment. Through the years, Karla did several projects on TV and movies. She also earned the tag 'Queen Mother' in showbiz as she is the mother of 'King of Hearts' Daniel Padilla. Karla currently hosts the Kapamilya weekday morning talk show Magandang Buhay.
