KZ Tandingan took to social media to mark the 9th anniversary since she joined The X Factor Philippines on Thursday, October 7.

KZ was hailed as the grand champion of the competition, which became the starting point of her career as a singer.

The singer took a trip down memory lane and recalled her journey leading to her audition in the competition.

"I remember skipping exams to audition despite the expected rejection and deciding to give music a chance, one last time, with only a backpack with my CDs and my heart with my dreams," she stated.

In her post, KZ also honored the people and the fellow contestants that she got to meet in the show.

"As we mark the 9th year of XFPH, I'd like to honor the entire team behind the show, the fantastic artists who became my family and shared the stage with every single week, and all of you for making a little girl believe that though she is different, her dreams are valid," she remarked.

She added, "I love you guys, and I’m praying our situation improves, so we all get to celebrate together next year! For now, I am sharing this cake with you! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MY X-FACTOR FAM!"

Fellow celebrities of KZ were quick to greet her on the X Factor anniversary.

"Happy anniversary piki!!!!!!!! Miss and love you  @kztandingan," Kakai Bautista said.

"God is so good. Congratulations and may you continue to shine for Jesus," Jaya commented. 

"Noong napanood ko ang audition mo alam ko na na sayo yun Kayz!!! ingat kayo lagi regards sa lahat ha pag pwede na kitakits!!!" Gloc 9 stated. 

The X Factor Philippines aired on ABS-CBN in 2012.

Following her win in the competition, KZ released her self-titled album in May 2013. The album featured original tracks and song covers.
