Catriona Gray dropped a new song early Friday, October 8, entitled "Love Language."

The track marks the beauty queen-singer's first foray into songwriting. The song is a collaboration with Sydney-based producer Billy Josh Cabusas, better known as Cabu.

"Excited, nervous and aaghhhh," Catriona wrote on Instagram. "Hope you guys love it as much as I do!"

Meanwhile, Cabu thanked the former Miss Universe for trusting him on the start of her musical journey.

"Can't wait to see what the future holds," he said.

Earlier, Catriona said she collaborated with Cabu when she was in Australia to visit her parents.

"So, whilst in lockdown in Australia back in May 2021, I wrote my first song. And when I got out, I went straight to the studio and recorded with Cabu," she said.

"Love Language" was released under the Global Pinoy Music (GLOPM) project of Catriona's record label, Warner Music Philippines.

The campaign strengthens the label's global effort to promote Filipino music and aims to create opportunities to unify and cut across all borders, according to WMP managing director Sarah Ismail.

“We are very proud to launch GLOPM as a movement that amplifies and elevates Filipino talent to the global community. I believe in the immense talent of Filipino artists and GLOPM is the perfect platform for us to do just that. They deserve global recognition,” said Ismail, as quoted by ABS-CBN News.

Meanwhile, A&R Manager Kelley Mangahas said GLOMP aspires to make Filipino artists be felt, seen, and heard on the world stage.

“WMP will be utilizing its resources as a record label and leveraging global expertise and knowledge in music production into the Philippines," she said.

For her part, Catriona said she is happy to be part of the campaign as she starts a new chapter in her life as an artist.

“I am honored to be a part of Warner Music Philippines’ GLOPM initiative as this movement features the aspirational talent of Filipinos in the field of music," she said.

Catriona, 27, rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe pageant in 2018, making her the fourth Filipina to bring home the coveted crown.

Since then, the Filipina beauty queen—who studied Music Theory at the Berklee College of Music, the prestigious arts school in Boston—has been vocal about her plans to pursue a music career.

In 2018, she released an original song, titled "We're In This Together," for the children's welfare organization Young Focus. Two years later, she and her boyfriend Sam Milby dropped an acoustic version of the song as part of a fundraiser.

In April this year, Catriona collaborated with R&B artist Jay R to record a fresh rendition of the '90s hit song "Angel of Mine." She also released her own version of “R.Y.F. (Raise Your Flag)", a song inspired by her own patriotic words during her Miss Universe pageant journey.

Previously, Catriona told fashion magazine Mega that she plans to focus on her music career this year.

Referring to her titles, she said: “I am looking forward to adding 'songwriter' and 'performer' to that by the end of the year."
