After she was offered to play the role of a vlogger Sarah Garcia in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya this month, Miles Ocampo said she had no reservations playing the role of a lesbian in the country’s longest drama anthology series. Their episode is based on the relationship of Tanchellie Lobete and Sarah Garcia, a pair of YouTube vloggers known as Team Tarah.

“Nung in-offer sa akin yung role sobrang excited ko kasi first time kong gumawa ng ganitong klaseng role. Actually, since meron silang mga vlogs, si Miss Sarah and si Miss Tanch, pinanuod ko yung mga vlogs nila para lang makita kung paano sila sa isa’t isa with the help of our director and si Michelle. Teamwork yung ginawa namin with this episode,” she said.

Playing the role of her girlfriend in the MMK episode is Michelle Vito whom Miles was relieved to learn was her co-star. Miles and Michelle were co-stars on the now defunct sitcom Home Sweetie Home.

With the help of direk Raz, sinasabi niya sa amin yung sincerity dapat makikita and eventually lalabas dun yung pagmamahalan and yung kilig lalabas siya dun sa story,” she said.

The 24-year-old actress said she was thankful to be able to be introduced to the people whose life story they would be portraying onscreen before they started taping the episode.

“Nagkaroon kami ng chance na ma-meet si Ms. Tanch at Ms. Sarah and parang kahit anong tanungin namin, at the end of the day ang sagot lang nila love nila ang isa’t isa kasi mahal ko siya. In this story grabe pinakita yung unconditional love ng isang tao at kung ano ang kaya mong gawin para dun sa partner mo. Pag napanuod niyo yung episode na ‘to and dun sa mga nakakakilala dun sa characters na ginawa namin makikita nila na sweet sila, na nagmamahalan sila. Pag napanuod nila ‘to makikita nila kung gaanon kalalim yung pinagdaanan ng bawat characters to prove their love for each other,” she said.
