Karen Davila received her Silver Play Button recently after gaining 100K subscribers, marking a new milestone in her YouTube journey.

The broadcast journalist took to social media to celebrate the milestone and to extend her gratitude to her subscribers.

"A BIG THANK YOU," she wrote.

Karen admitted that she felt scared when she started doing YouTube as it was a platform that she was not familiar with being a journalist on television for many years.

"When I started YouTube 5 months ago, I was a bit scared. Being a broadcast journalist for 28 years now, I was unsure of what kind of content I can create that YouTube viewers would love," she shared.

Karen relayed that what she aimed for when she launched her YouTube channel was to inspire people.

"I wanted to share inspiring life stories & show the lighter side of me, what I am like everyday when I am not doing the news or political interviews on Headstart!" she said.

Headstart is a morning news show breaking the most significant stories and issues unfolding in the Philippines. The show airs on ANC.

"I am a believer that we can all learn from each other’s life stories and be inspired by them! Thank you my dearest subscribers for joining me in this wonderful journey. Thank you LORD. All things are possible only because of you," she remarked.

Karen also extended her gratitude to her YouTube team and shared snapshots of them with the Silver Play Button on social media.

The broadcast journalist launched her first YouTube video last May 1.

"I have been putting this off for so long, for years actually and finally had the courage to do it! I have been in the broadcast industry for 27 years but am really just learning new things on YOUTUBE. I am a newbie. I want to enjoy it and hope to be a part of your lives in a meaningful way," she wrote on social media prior to the launching of her YouTube channel.

"I also want to help you go through personal challenges, issues, difficulties. WORK IN PROGRESS pa tayong lahat (We are all works in progress)," she added.

Among the personalities she had as guests in her YouTube vlogs are Heart Evangelista, Chiz Escudero, Manny Pacquiao, Lyca Gairanod, and John Lloyd Cruz, among others.
