Filipino skin care expert Olivia Quido, who is also Miss Universe’s official skin care provider, answered Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano when asked for her opinion on which Filipino celebrities could join beauty pageants.

During a media conference on Saturday, October 23, Olivia, or Miss O as she is often addressed as in public, told PUSH, “Si Liza Soberano, no questions asked. Number 1 ko sa linya si Liza Soberano. I think she’s going to be a good asset. Ang galing magsalita, ang ganda, ang tangkad. And also, napakaganda ng mukha. I think she has a very good chance if she were to join the pageant.”

Liza has always been a popular choice among pageant fans when considering a good candidate to enter the world of pageantry. However, the actress has stressed time and again that although she feels “flattered and grateful” for the support she has been receiving, she has no plans of joining beauty pageants.

Unbeknownst to many, Miss O has her own success story to tell. From saving up her school allowances to buy skin care products as a teen who battled acne, Miss O was able to create her own beauty empire, and is now the official skin care partner of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world – the Miss Universe pageant. Aside from that, she was also recently chosen as Miss Universe Colombia’s President of the 3Jury Selection committee.

When asked for a message of empowerment for her fellow Filipinas in pursuit of their dreams, Miss O said, “Siguro isa dun, like they have to find their passion. If they find their passion, whether they fall, bangon agad. Alam mo ‘yun wala naman bagay na papangarapin na makukuha mo agad agad na walang paghihirap. So I think na ‘pag nirireach mo ‘yung goal mo, ‘yung passion mo, maraming beses ka dadapa pero tumayo ka kaagad.”

She said, “Para alam mo ‘yun mga konting negativity na komo’t sasabihing ‘Di mo kaya ‘yan, hindi ‘yan para sa ‘yo,’ kailangan marunong kang mag-brush off. And then you just follow whatever you want.”

“And then syempre, number 1, is to put God first in everything that you do. ‘Yung nakasulat na ‘Seek first the kingdom of God and everything shall be added unto you.’ Totoo talaga ‘yun. Unahin mo si Lord. Seek first the kingdom and everything, lahat ng mga gusto mo, pangarap mo, will be added onto you,” she added, quoting a verse from the Bible.
